What's your favorite oil brand?

Kia recommends an oil change every 7500 miles with 6.87qt. ACEA A5 or above oil. 10W-30 or 5W-30

After engine break in its Royal Purple from then on. You don't want to use it during breaking though, it's too slick.

Do they recommend a straight change at 7500 miles or do they come with those percentage reminders (not sure what it's called) that decrease as you drive?

In Arizona, because of the heat, they recommend 5,000 miles. I have always been one to do my first oil/filter at 1.500-2,000 miles. Suggestions?
I believe an oil change is recommended at 5k miles for any environment Kia regards as harsh. I think that includes pretty much everyone from the stop and go of city drivers, to those in the heat of the south, and people driving in the hills and mountains up north.
