What do you use to clean the soot off the exhaust tips?

Any advice on what's the safest and best way to clean off soot buildup on the exhaust tips?

Spray with metal cleaner and let soak and then use a brillo pad or wire brush if it's caked on.

Wouldn’t brillo pad/wire brush have the potential to scratch the polished finish of the exhaust tip?

I've been using a bit of wheel cleaner and a sponge on it and it works great.

I use a regular sponge and then just wash it with car soap when you are washing your car.

While it comes in different containers, this stuff works great. I’ve used it on exhaust tips and other things for years.

0000 steel wool works like a charm with a metal polish. Clean all my chrome that way and no scratches.
