Transmission fluid cooler (ATF cooler)

On most other vehicles (Ascent, Pilot,...) I have looked, a transmission fluid cooler is required to tow 5000 lbs. Most Ascent trims come with it from factory. On the Pilot, the 5000 lbs tow package adds the cooler, while the 3500 lbs package doesn't.

Is a transmission fluid cooler needed on the Telluride to reach the 5000 lbs capacity?

I had a 2010 Rav4 with tow package that had a factory transmission cooler. I'd say if you're constantly towing a trailer over 3000lbs I would recommend it to prolong the life of the transmission.
