Proximity door lock and unlock

We just purchased a 2025 SX-Prestige. We were told that the car has the ability for proximity lock and unlocking of the doors. We can get them to unlock sometimes, but not lock. The unlocking is not consistent either. Any suggestions?

You need to just lightly touch the rectangle indentation on the front exterior door handles to lock them. To unlock, you need to touch the interior of the back part of the handle (it is slightly ribbed with a little light at the touch point) and that should unlock them. If you have programmed your phone as a smart key, you just open up the key on your phone and touch the top of the phone to the rectangle on the handle. I've found the handles to be super sensitive to using the exact needed touch. Total pain at times. I hope that helps. They're really sensitive and if you wrap your hand around it touching both buttons at the same time, the system gets confused and either does nothing or the opposite of what you wanted.
