Phone readout thru Bluetooth

When I receive a text thru my phone and the Bluetooth connection reads the text out loud thru the car speaker, it reads the phone number like it's a large number (5 billion, 3 hundred fifty eight million, 2 hundred thirty seven thousand, etc.) This is all before it reads the message. Does anyone know how to stop this?
