LED headlight light bulbs for 2022 S that don't need to have the desiccant pack removed.?

Hello all, first post here. Just ordered a 2022 S in moss green on 1/2/22 and want to start buying my accessories now as I wait the long wait for it to arrive. One of the first things I want to do is upgrade those headlights to LED and it looks like the LASFIT kit is a popular one. The only thing that is a bit concerning is the requirement to have to remove the factory installed desiccant packs that are in the housings. Are there any other high quality LED bulbs that do not need to have that removed or do they all need to have the packet removed.? Is it a big deal to remove it, anyone get moisture buildup or have any problems from removing them? I would be open to putting in HID/Xenon bulbs if they would not require removing the desiccants also if anyone has recommendations for those, they would at least have a better color temp than stock halogens.
I can't wait to get this car in from GA.! I hope the 3 month estimate was accurate and it doesn't turn into 9 months of waiting, I will have a room full of telluride accessories and no ride to put them in! Any info is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!
There is a lot on the forum about LED bulbs and various recommendations.
Many of the newer LED bulbs are more compact and don't require you remove the packet.
Keep in mind that a few 2022 owners have reported that the LASFIT bulbs no longer fit the bulb connectors on the 2022 due to a slight change in shape of the prongs and LASFIT no longer says they are compatible.

Oh Cool, haven't heard of those yet. Is there any model you recommend over the other, on their site they have L2,L3.. They say the L3 offer 7x the brightness of regular halogens, is that a guarantee every oncoming car is going to be flashing you thinking you have your brights on.? I want the LED look and brighter headlights but don't want to be blinding every person on the road in front of me.

I installed the L3 in my Telluride. There was definitely an increase in light output. People do occasionally flash their lights but that’s to be expected. To be fair they did before I switched from the halogen. For your application I’d suggest the L2.

Make sure you check the headlight beam pattern height afterwards and adjust accordingly.

The factory LED headlights in my 2022 EX also get me flashed on occasion. I think Kia did a fantastic job of focusing light output and this is likely the case for their halogen units too.

When you think of “blinding” other motorists most have a mental picture of the kid in a Civic or pick up truck, using HID or LED lights in a reflector lamp housing.

Your Kia will be different. With projectors that are properly aimed there should be no issues.

Since they are so many halogen equipped vehicles on the road, it’s common for even properly aimed HID or LED lights to seem excessively bright, when viewed in comparison to halogen.

Install the LED’s and enjoy

I took your advice and ordered the L2's from Lucas. Also the L-T15 and L-T10. I am looking at ordering these too

LED Bulb Switchback Amber/White - L-1157SB

I can not seem to find any photos or videos on youtube of these in action. Have you seen them by any chance installed on a Telluride or any vehicle.? Are they nice.? I am assuming you don't have control over turning the white running light portion of the lights on or off. It seems they are just always on white and when you use the turn signal, it switches to the yellow/amber, which is probably fine, I was just wondering if you had the ability to switch off the running light.

I believe the hyper flash issue with Lasfit was with some of their turn/rear signal bulbs.

I just installed auxito 9005 led for my 2022 telluride lx. It is brighter than Yello Halogen but the light is blinking when car is starts again with stop and start features.

I installed Lucas L2's, worked perfect in a 2022 S. No Hyper flash and very nice pure white light. More expensive than Lasfit but they were plug n play and no need to remove the packet in the headlamp assembly.

That’s going to be normal for ANY led headlight bulb you swap in. It’s because the leds are instant on and off. You don’t see the flicker with the halogens because they dim more slowly. After a while you get used to it.
