Flat tire replacement on 2022 Telluride

We had a flat on the passenger rear on or 2022 Telluride SX Prestige Nightfall edition. Looked like a nail imbedded. We replaced it with the spare donut. The dealer says it is not safe to fix the hole and wont be safe to drive. He told us they can replace the tire (245 / 50 R 20 - $335 plus tax). They may be able to get $100 on the road hazard on the new tire (only 2 months old). What is your experience?
