I have a question for K&N regarding using and fitting a Telluride for a after market Air Intake system.
Will they be re-flashing the ECM? If so will that Void the warranty on the Kia?
I just sold my 2017 Subaru WRX that I installed a COBB Cold Air Intake System that required the re-flash of my ECM.
That also Voided my warranty and cost me $14,000 for a new short block after the #3 bearing spun and they said it was
in part due to the ECM Re-flash. And we all know that a re-flash of the ECM for the Cold Air Intake could not have caused the issue.
So I guess I'm saying before you start changing items under the hood you may first want to check with Kia first.
I'm all about proactive investigative activities before installing these items.

Highly doubtful that there would be an ECU flash for the Telluride, but one would most certainly create potential warranty issues.

Don’t expect any significant gains with a naturally aspirated V6, an the ECU flash is something that generally benefits turbo and engines.

Sorry to revive an old thread but question is relevant to the K&N Intake system...

Recently checked the site and the instructions online have this disclaimer:

I see earlier in the thread that someone from Rancho Cucamonga CA volunteered his vehicle for the test fit. Can anyone else from CA clarify on the disclaimer, and confirm if the air intake can be installed on a vehicle in CA?

I have mine installed (I'm from CA) and well just don't tell any CHP officer about it

Legit K&N for sure

He may not have any other since this was a take-off from his wife's Telluride She preferred the quiet engine

BTW that happened like 3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!
I derped at even writing that question...

K&N said they can't ship to CA, so I asked if I can swing by their Riverside CA location and pickup instead... they'll probably say No, too, just because legally they have to... but what the heck...

Yes, there are several companies designing air intakes for the Telluride. One such company is AirFlow Deflector Inc., which specializes in the manufacture and installation of air intakes for a variety of vehicles, including the Telluride. Another manufacturer is AeroFlow Dynamics, which also offers air intakes for the Telluride.
