2023 Digital Cluster Screen Blank

My digital cluster screen is black and will not turn on. I cannot see how fast I am going, or any important safety details while driving. This has been an issue I've been experiencing for over a month now. My service department has been unable to fix it, and is awaiting an answer from Kia for help. I am aware of a recall for this issue, however that recall does not come up under my VIN # and according to my dealership, would not help because of specific programing. I call weekly for updates, and there are never any answers.

Other details: I do have an open case with Kia consumer affairs
Telluride model is a 2023 SX Prestige Xline, with 12,000 miles on it.

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Your frustration with the situation is justified given the importance of proper operation of the digital cluster to the safety and functionality of your vehicle. It may be worth contacting Kia again, emphasizing the seriousness of the problem and insisting on finding a solution.

I had the same issue. Contacted the dealer and was told my VIN was not covered and to reboot (restart) the car and report if it happens again. It has not. Still, I opened a case with the NHTSA on their website and I suggest you do too. There is strength in numbers.

I ended up here by searching KIA Clusters. We purchased Sorento June 28, 2023. Two weeks later our dash screen froze up while I was driving on the interstate. No clue how fast I was going. If my turn signals worked, I was totally freaked out. We took the vehicle to a local KIA dealer…they said they couldn’t do anything because it wasn’t doing anything. We recorded it multiple times. We took it to the dealership and left it with them…they could never reproduce it??? We recorded it, and added our VIN. We called corporate…nothing. Over a year later and added problems (when you turn the wheel he sounds like the vehicle is in 4 wheel drive on cement but the suv doesn’t have 4 wheel drive). I left it with them on the July 13. Today August 5 they finally told me it was the “digital odometer screen” aka the cluster…which I told them a year ago needed replaced. The part won’t be in until next Tuesday. Once that is repaired they will look at the other issue. 🤦🏻‍♀️
