    Kia Telluride Vehicle Maintenance Milestones

Kia recommends oil changes between 6,000Km to 12,000Km. Depending on were you live has a lot to do with maintenance. At 6,000Km recommended as severe conditions. I live in mountaineous area with cold winters therefore I adjust my maintenance accordingly. And will do an upper cylinder clean every...

    Kia Telluride Vehicle Maintenance Milestones

That Atkinson cycle will only delay the inevitable. I have seen the deposit in DGI engines in many brands. Mercedes, BMW, Kia , Hyundai, GM,Ford ect. The only manufacturers takling this problem is some Ford engines and Toyota rav4 were there is a Port Injection along with the DGI. Basically the...

    Towing the Telluride

I know you strap it down at the wheel, but how do you PULL it up on to the deck. I check my Telluride and there is no hook. Even my dealership has no idea. I think Kia didn't install the hook. There is two center bolts about 2" apart under the skid plate.

    Towing the Telluride

Where do you hook up the Telluride to pull it on a deck truck or dolly. I think Kia forgot to install a hook underneath the front skid plate in the center area. Please let me know!!!

    Engine lifespan

Spoke to my dealership mechanic today. The reason for the severe use maintenance service is due to my use and location's type of weather. They use Castrol Edge full Synthetic oil between every 6,000 to 8,000 Km and at every 32,000Km they do an Upper Cylinder pressure clean with the engine...

    Engine Noise on Startup

This is a new 3.8l designed differently from old 3.8l. I dought very much there is an issue with the timing chain tensioner. They had timing chain tensioner issues in the past with the 3.3 l as well, 2007- 2008. The 3.8 and 3.3 has had major redesign as they are used in the Genesis Luxury...

    Engine Noise on Startup

That is normal on cold start up. My Telluride is the same and so was my 3.3l Santa fe. Noise goes away in a few seconds. As for the rattle I don't get that on my Telluride.

    Engine lifespan

I agree with you entirely. Just got back from a 60 miles drive use sport mode for 10 miles to increase my RPM my gas mileage is to what I was getting when new. So it is good once in awhile to rev the engine for few miles. This will certainly help in reducing carbon deposit. This engine loves...

Your 3.8l v6 most likely has Port Injection. Using good quality fuel will help keep Intake Valves clean since the fuel is sprayed on the valves, Not so for a DGI engine. Just saying. Please correct me if I'm wrong since I love to learn new things al the time no matter what subject.

    Engine lifespan

The only new vehicle I know that still uses Port Injection is the Jeep Wrangler 3.6 l engine, they do offer 4 cylinder DGI Turbo. But for short drives or slow speed stick with Port Injection. Just my logical opinion. I had no problems with my 3.3l Port Inj. Santa fe most people I know had...

Decision Made - Going To Wait Until Spring 2020 (or later)

I would wait I've got exterior and interior quality assembly issues. Parts won't be available till August, on order since May

    Engine lifespan

Most Gas Direct Injection engine will have a short life expectancy due to Intake valve deposit. My 2020 3.8l Telluride has very heavy carbon deposit at the tail pipe and my gas mileage has dropped at 2,245Km or 1,394miles. I will probably have the valves cleaned every 12,000miles using a DGI...

Hyundai, Kia see strong H1 sales in U.S. market

I've owned my Telluride for over 2 months. Great suv but very poor finish. Exterior paint miss, warped interior lift back molding. Found 2 ground wires in engine compartment barely attached, fixed on my own. Exterior chrome trim had to be fitted. Poorly attached bottom door extension . I would...
