I called my dealership. There is a solution. Go to Setup, Vehicle, Driver Assistance. There are multiple features that you can turn off. Once you have turned off the Smart Cruise Control, you push your cruise control button located on your steering wheel; press the button and hold it until a green cruise light shows where the car icon used to be. This is manual cruise control. I have not tried it yet, but the dealership tells me to make sure this is showing when I start my car. I can set my cruise control just like a manual cruise control option. The key is, do not press your cruise control button on the steering wheel to stop cruise control, use the brake.
