That does look better, but the sunroof will hit the lights. Also it won't be practical to move way forward and still use it as a roof rack.

The reason I was contemplating this is because Thule bar can use "T" bolts to mount thing on top of the rack.

Cross bars are too far back to have any good use for a rooftop lightbar.
