Does the Telluride engine automatically shut off after 30 minutes of idling?

Anyone know if the Kia Telluride has a safety feature that turns off the engine if left idling for longer than 30 minutes? My Ford had this feature to prevent accidentally leaving the engine on too long. Especially for safety purposes.

No, it does. I I have let mine idle for longer and it didn't cut off.

Mine will do just the opposite. If, for example, at a stop light with the engine off for longer than 45 - 60 seconds, then it will turn back on.

This is to prevent battery drainage. The length of time is determined by what you have running on the battery such as radio, the fan, defroster ect. Notice the engine shuts off at a stop only when the vehicle has reached operating temperature.

That's not what the start/stop feature is for.
The stop feature is for fuel management supposedly reducing fuel consumption. But No it not hard on the starter since these starter are heavy duty ,unusually tested to handle roughly 200,000 starts as oppose to regular starter tested at 50,000. My comment was about the engine restarting if you are at a stop light for to long in order to prevent battery drainage. I may not have explained it clear enough sorry for the confusion I may of cause...😏

No, it starts back up when you take your foot off the brake. It is hard on the starter with the engine stopping and starting. Just like people driving with their lights off thinking they are saving gas.

Yes I agree with you, but mine will restart if I'm at a stop while in drive mode if the engine has been off for a little while exactly to prevent battery drainage. And when you are parked with engine off you get a warning as well on your screen about battery discharge. I'm on my 2nd Nav update in which I do myself. Last update Nov. 2019 (22.12G USB stick) and toke 1hr.upload and 3/4 hr. download. I was extremely pleased with the new update it made changes to the entire infotaiment system. Map, Nav and the quantum logic system for the audio. The H/K 12 speakers separation is fantastic and Map is accurate plus giving a lot more info.

The update we got at the dealership totally screwed up the radio and Sirus XM and put more crap in there that wasn't needed.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe it wasn't properly installed, or a glitch during the upload or download. I have a degree in electronics and optics. I prefer to do my own servicing since I am very meticulous in all work I do either electro or mechanical.

It automatically turns off when you stop. Unless you turn that feature off. They think it saves gas, but stopping and starting is hard on the starter.
KIA-Hyundai guy put out a video that the systems are unrelated ,that there is a seperate system that reduces the stress on the starter although I've always been told (it tales more fuel to start than idle for 15 minutes) so even if the starter issue is negated it would be counter intuitive for fuel economy
