Neither would I unless I lived in Florida or California or where you never get snow.
I live in California and will only buy awd. Awd is more torquey off the line using all four wheels rather than 2 wheels. This thing is slow enough so the AWD helps.

AWD. Montreal, where it often takes eight days before they clear the snow from the parking spots. Depending on the infinitely variable precipitation scenarios I can be looking at deep snow turned into jagged ice formations sprinkled with light dustings of powder snow hiding tricky stuck wheel trenches. I decided it was time to go Alpha vehicle and get me some of that AWD, and greater ground clearance to reclaim some winter driving dignity.

I have AWD in the event of snow especially if I travel to Niagara Falls

I’m in the process of buying a telluride and I think a FWD will do good for me in Florida.

Isn't AWD required to vary the power split front to back,i.e. sport mode? Even if you would never need the lock mode, sport mode or even smart mode function makes AWD worth it IMO.

I just can beleive there is no mud or gravel in the entire state of Florida or California. Just amazing they some how got rid of adverse conditions in both states.
