What's your washing setup?

This is my current setup;

• 1500 psi 1.2 GPM electric pressure washer
• Custom filter rig (single carbon filter to two 1 micron water filters)
• Foam Cannon
• Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow and Maxi-Suds foaming soap
• Microfiber cloths for washing and drying (no brushes)

If I am washing once a week, I typically do touch-less washing and once a month do a bit of washing with a microfiber cloth. If I skip a week, I'd wash with a microfiber cloth.

MTM Hydro PF22 foam canon
4 large microfiber drying towel.

Normally wash early AM on Saturdays.

Every time. I do touchless wash most of the time.

3300psi pressure washer
2 bucket set-up with grit guards
Snow cannon
Microfiber wash mitt
Separate bucket with brushes and rags for wheels/wheel wells (Clean wheels first before body)
Road grime/bug tar remover for lower portions of the vehicle
Heavy microfiber cloth for drying along with a quick detailer sprayed onto the cloth (Add some protection back to the paint that you're removing during the wash process)
Stoners glass cleaner with MF towels
AMMONYC mud tire gel

This usually takes about an hour minus set up and tear down. Detailing for a living in my younger years made me a tad more anal than a lot of people but it's nice when you look at your clean ride and there are no swirls in the paint and the wheel wells are still pristine.

About to pick up a pressure washer, do you guys recommend electric or gas? And is it bad to pressure wash every time you wash the car? Lastly there are multiple color nozzles, which one is safe?

I prefer gas due to the higher pressure you get from them. You could pressure wash everytime you wash your vehicle, if you feel like hooking it up everytime.

Colored nozzle ratings should be found in the owners manual. It'll say what each tip is earmarked for. Go with a wide pattern and you'll be fine.

I use the green color nozzle on my electric one. If you're unsure test the pressure on the ground first.

Check your manual to be safe. I have a 3500 psi Ryobi and there is a cheat sheet and there is one nozzle(forgot the color) that has a picture of a car so you know it's designed for vehicles. Again, go with a wider pattern and you should be safe.

I read electric is safer and use the white tip.
