Fill gap between second row captain's chairs?

Hello - we have two car seats in each of the second row captain's chairs and are trying to figure out if a gap filler exists that goes between the two captain's chairs?

We thought having captain's chairs would be good to "separate" the boys so they wouldn't fight, but they're too young right now to fight and what is happening is they just drop their water bottles and food to the abyss that is the floor and there is no way for the driver to pick u and hand back to them...hence, causing absolute chaos. In our other car, it just falls on the bench backseat and it's easy to just reach back and hand over....

I thought of getting a smaller bean bag type chair and stuffing that gap with it, but that may look odd.

Anyone have any thoughts or know if KIA sells anything like this? I've seen some similar items for other brands/models.

Thanks.

Researching the exact same thing. Thought about a bin with a lid that we could also store things in. Not a lot of room between the seats though. Most/all storage totes are too wide.

This is what I found. Turns the chairs into a bench.

This only fills the gap when the seats are folded down for loading purposes. This will not help when the seats are up. Typically you’d remove this piece when the seats are in use.
You can definitely still use them in the upward position, I do all the time. It attaches via velcro, might have to take off if you are just putting one seat up/down at a time but I love my Canvasback seat gap cover!

Could this hold the weight of a large dog?
I'm going to say no, just by looking at the picture. I'm fishing for a solution to keep my 80lb Boxer from sliding back into the third row, from the second. I'm going to fill the seat gap with a custom console (plywood, foam, leather upholstery) and am considering just using a high quality bench cover for the back gap. This concept intrigues me, but it would be better for me personally, if that plastic piece attached to the front side of the seats as opposed to the back.

Actually, this is incorrect.

I received mine about 10 days ago and it’s fantastic. The liner attached to the carpet with Velcro. If you order the center piece at the same time, they attach velcro strips to the inner edge of the seat back portion on both sides. The panel has a hard plastic insert and works great when the seats are up.

The only potential downside is if you recline the rear seats at significantly different angles, but I have both of mine reclined slightly, and the same amount.

The center section hides everything in the cargo area and seems sturdy enough to keep a dog in the cargo area.

Overall, I’m pleased, but I wish the canvas went up the sides in the cargo area too.

Did you ever find a solution for this. I didn't even think about this. My kids are so used to putting stuff on the middle seat of the bench in our Outback. With our new captains seat, things fall straight to the floor and are out of reach for everyone.

We have a large sized dog that sleeps across the middle seat on road trips. We really wanted the EX but the Captains Chairs were going to be a deal breaker. I contacted a local Car Upholstery Shop that I saw had made some really nice custom motorcycle seats. He made this for the gap. Looks almost factory original to me! We are going to try it out soon on a long drive with a dog cover over the whole middle seat. I told the upholstery shop to keep the template in case other Telluride owners needed one. Let me know and I will send you his contact info.

That's pretty awesome. Would you mind sharing what this cost? Feel free to DM me if you'd rather share that way.

How is it holding up? Can it support a weight of an adult for short rides? I am really interested in getting a gap seat filler as well, but I can't find anybody in California that will do it. Is this seat removable or is it attached to the car? I actually tried contacting your provider, but the guy said that the car needs to be there in order for him to do it. That's a bummer because this has the OEM look to it.
